We are looking for a passionate, ambitious, talented Campaigns Manager/Senior Campaigns Exec to join our friendly, creative, go-getting team.
The Book Publicist is a strong team of 12 publicists and marketers, leading the way in securing exciting, original, high-profile publicity for brilliant non-fiction books and expert authors.
We work with publishers including FT Publishing, Pearson, Routledge, Cambridge University Press, Kogan Page, John Murray Press and Welbeck – as well as directly with Sunday Times bestselling authors, leading entrepreneurs and professors – to deliver hard-hitting PR campaigns.
We have an opening for an exciting role for a dynamic publicist to join our company as we grow the company – with a real chance to make your mark.
The role:
- Planning and executing your own publicity campaigns
- Writing clear, concise and engaging press releases
- Brainstorming and researching ideas for campaigns
- Writing thought leadership articles and ‘top tips’ features for the media
- Managing author expectations and maintaining our high level of author care
Skills, knowledge, experience
- At least two years’ experience in PR (books experience is desirable but we would also consider applications from journalists or PRs with transferable experience)
- Excellent communication & copywriting skills
- Great relationships with journalists
- Drive and ambition to get brilliant results for your books
- Determination and resilience – to maintain efforts until results are achieved
- Attention to detail
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment and able to
- balance multiple clients at one time
- Write persuasive press releases and pitches
- Have an interest in current affairs and an understanding of topical news
- Enjoy working as part of a team

This is an opportunity to be part of a fun and positive team in a results-driven agency with a journalistic approach to PR. It is a working from home position, with regular socials and monthly meetings and ‘creative days’ in Hay on Wye. Full or part-time role considered.
