The Perimenopause Journal: Unlock your power, own your wellbeing, find your path

Kate Codrington

The team here at The Book Publicist love working on PR for health books, so we were excited to start working with Kate Codrington on the launch of her gorgeously illustrated book, The Perimenopause Journal.

Our Approach

We collaborated with Kate to develop a book launch PR plan that not only showcased the book itself, but also shared her invaluable advice to millions of potential readers. We created bespoke pitches and used our established media contacts to reach out to a broad range of media, including national newspapers, women's lifestyle publications and health and wellness magazines.

Media Highlights

Our book publicity campaign resulted in a wide range of media coverage, hitting some of the most prestigious, but carefully targeted, media outlets in the UK.

Kate provided expert comment for a feature in The Times online (9 million unique visits a month), talking about the debate around the use of HRT for menopause.

National newspaper platform iNews (6.5million UVPM) ran a large feature sharing insights and advice for readers around the symptoms of perimenopause.

Women’s favourite Stylist Magazine (2.3m UVPM) shared a helpful advice feature for perimenopausal women, pointing readers to the book.

Women’s Health Magazine (14.4m UVPM) also featured Kate and her book in a helpful online feature that was shared widely by readers across social media.

Why Choose The Book Publicist?

At The Book Publicist, we understand that publicity for health and wellbeing books requires the sensitivity to understand the health issues covered, whether that is for the author themselves or the readers of the media outlets.

We pride ourselves in our ability to collaborate with authors and publishers to help deliver publicity that will not only promote a book but also help to build the profile of our authors. We always try to stay up to date with the latest health industry trends and newsworthy topics, so we can understand our authors and their market, and maximise exposure for their book.

If you're looking to work with a PR agency that specialises in health books, we would be delighted to hear from you. Contact us today to learn more about our services and how we can help you achieve your goals.

The Perimenopause Journal: Unlock your power, own your wellbeing, find your path
by Kate Codrington

Perimenopause is not a hormone deficiency, it’s the time before your last period, a normal life stage and transition to a more liberating time of life. Perimenopause need not be a crisis, but lots of people talk up a fearful narrative that creates stress and confusion, which can make symptoms worse.

Kate Codrington has been a menopause mentor and a therapist for 30 years and now, in her new book The Perimenopause Journal, she guides readers through the ‘inner seasons’ of perimenopause, so they can better track, understand and manage the symptoms of the natural ebb and flow of this transition. Most importantly, she provides readers with the advice they need to care for themselves, so that this change can become a source of excitement and joy.

The second half of the beautifully illustrated hardback is a 52-page, undated journal for readers to track their own symptoms based around the seasons and the lunar year. As a safe space away from the misogyny and fear that surrounds perimenopause, the journal will help readers chart their course to a smooth and fulfilling postmenopause, known as a “second spring”.

This book is a unique take on navigating the perimenopause – it's for people who don't want to be patronised and find that other books on the topic just don't speak their language. For those who go to yoga but cringe at the chanting; get the giggles in a gong bath or close out their mindfulness class with a glass of prosecco. They are sharp, they’ve busted glass ceilings, they’ve burned out and (hopefully) recovered and are now longing to learn how to live their lives sustainably and stylishly.
